Babchi plant seeds contain bakuchiol, an anti-ageing ingredient which has also been found useful in treating leucoderma. Its botanical name is Psoralea corylifolia while many local names for it include bemchi (Hindi), Chanderlekha, Kushthahantri, Sitavari, and Vejani.
Bakuchiol found in this plant has similar functions to those found in retinol without the same photosensitivity issues, making it an excellent ingredient to include in facial care products.
