3. Prevents stains
Pads contain odour-controlling agents or materials to neutralise or mask unpleasant odours, providing you with an enjoyable and comfortable experience. Most modern pads also include an impermeable or semipermeable back sheet (allowing water vapor through) so as to prevent smelly molecules seeping through and staining your underwear.
The top sheet of a pad directs menstrual blood into an absorbent core, quickly locking away blood and odour to keep your undergarments fresh and dry. Some modern sanitary napkins even feature wings or tabs to secure their fit for leak-free results.
Always switch your sanitary pad every 4 – 6 hours to prevent leaks, discomfort or rashes from developing. Always wrap used pads before discarding them properly to reduce potential clogs in toilets as well as infections caused by flushing them down the toilet.
