CBD has been shown to effectively manage symptoms associated with mental health disorders. Furthermore, it decreases anxiety levels and promotes sleep quality.

Before taking any new supplement, be sure to consult with your physician first. They can recommend the right products, dose, and usage techniques. It is also essential to select high-quality FDA-approved products with lab tests conducted for purity and quality as well as provide a Certificate of Analysis.

Acne Treatment

CBD has quickly become a sought-after ingredient in skincare products for good reason. Studies have demonstrated its ability to decrease excess skin cell production and enhance abrasion resistance while acting as an antioxidant protector against free radical damage.

CBD demonstrated significant anti-acne effects during an acne pathogenesis study, including reduced keratinocyte proliferation and lipid synthesis by blocking TRPV1 ion channels, along with suppressed expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines and decreased oxidative stress levels in skin tissues; suggesting its potential as an effective topical treatment option for acne.

Anti-Inflammatory Effects

CBD engages 5-HT1A receptors directly and indirectly by increasing AEA levels, and acting as a membrane antioxidant by decreasing ROS-induced peroxidation of phospholipids. As such, CBD inhibits formation of pro-inflammatory leukotrienes while shifting the balance toward inflammation-resolving mediators known as specialist pro-resolving mediators (SPM) [102].

CBD increases GSH production, protecting it from being degraded by Xanthine Oxidase and NADPH Oxidase enzymes in mice treated with cisplatin, while decreasing MDA formation in UVB irradiated human keratinocytes [104]. Furthermore, CBD acts as an agonist of A2A receptors to decrease endothelial cell adhesion molecules expression and therefore decrease MDA production [105,106].

Decreased Drug Cravings

CBD has been shown to reduce heroin and alcohol cravings. One study demonstrated this by finding that participants who took CBD experienced two to three-fold fewer cravings when exposed to cues for drugs than those given a placebo pill.

This double-blind, placebo-controlled study will test whether CBD reduces cue-induced activation of the nucleus accumbens (NAc) and alcohol craving during a combined stress and fMRI alcohol cue reactivity task. Furthermore, cognitive and clinical outcomes will also be measured.

Decreased Seizures

CBD shows antiseizure effects in acute models of epilepsy and has disease-modifying potential in preclinical models of TLE. CBD significantly reduced seizure burden and improved motor comorbidities in RISE-SRS model of TLE, suggesting its potential efficacy for treating TLE patients.

CBD protected mice against clonic seizures caused by subcutaneous pentylenetetrazol and 6-Hz partial psychomotor seizures triggered by electrical stimulation. Furthermore, it improved reference memory performance while decreasing working memory errors on the rotarod test.

Decreased Mental Health Disorders

CBD has quickly become a go-to remedy for numerous mental health disorders. Studies have demonstrated its efficacy at relieving anxiety and depression symptoms as well as those caused by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), such as nightmares.

However, research on CBD is limited and it may be due to placebo effect or self-selection bias. Furthermore, CBD can interfere with other medications like antidepressants and antibiotics; people should therefore always consult their physician prior to taking CBD.

Decreased Type 1 Diabetes

CBD may offer promising solutions to help prevent diabetes and its complications, including high blood glucose levels and kidney damage caused by diabetes, though large clinical trials will need to be completed first in order to confirm these claims.

Studies indicate that CBD can significantly decrease pancreatic inflammation and b-cell destruction in an experimental mouse model of T1D, as well as improve insulin resistance and lipid metabolism.

Neuroprotective Effects

CBD’s ability to reduce neuroinflammation, alleviate oxidative stress and manage neuronal excitability makes it an attractive treatment option for neurological disorders. CBD interacts with multiple non-endocannabinoid receptors such as G protein-coupled receptors (GPR3, GPR6, and GPR55), transient receptor potential channels (TRPM8, TRPA1 and TRPV2) as well as serotonin, mu-and delta opioid receptors as well as peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma.

CBD protects neurons against oxidative stress and reduces apoptosis in vitro, as well as decreasing microglial activation from b-amyloid-induced microglial activation in vivo and LPS-induced nitrite production.

Pain Relief

CBD can act on brain receptors to reduce pain and anxiety, as well as stimulate your body’s natural production of painkillers.

Pain can range from an ache to a stabbing sensation and may affect one area or several on your body.

Studies suggest CBD could provide relief and enhance sleep, especially when used alongside other medications. Consult your physician about whether this could be of benefit.

Sleep Aid

There are various treatments for sleep disorders, ranging from herbal remedies such as valerian root to prescription sleep aids that cause sedation. Before being approved for use, prescription sleep aids must undergo intensive research studies before being released for public consumption.

In a placebo-controlled clinical trial, daily CBD supplementation was linked with significantly enhanced wakefulness following wakefulness and objective SE outcomes for participants with severe primary insomnia. Furthermore, well-being and mood assessments increased, although their effects were only temporary; there was no interference with mood measures throughout the study.
