The serum’s multifunctional formulation offers brightening, anti-ageing and protective treatments for healthy-looking skin. Its silky liquid texture absorbs easily into skin morning and night for seamless application.
It contains a proprietary blend of innovative bacteria to provide an immediate lifting effect and boost in radiance. Fern prebiotics support your skin microbiome while lactic acid improves complexion.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C serums have become an indispensable part of anti-age skincare regimens. This powerful antioxidant stimulates collagen synthesis to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles for younger-looking skin, while protecting cells against free radical damage that causes premature aging and dryness.
Brightening benefits include reduced dark spots and hyperpigmentation for an instant glow, combined with other ingredients to treat multiple skincare concerns, including niacinamide for balance, turmeric root for skin tone evenness, and peptides for repairing damage to the skin.
Choose a serum containing pure L-ascorbic acid or other stable forms, such as magnesium ascorbyl phosphate. Keep the product in a dark, airtight container to avoid oxidation; apply pea-sized amounts on slightly damp skin and gently pat until completely absorbed.
Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid (or hyaluronan) is an organic compound found naturally in human skin and other tissue that retains water, helping keep skin supple, soft, and youthful-looking. Research shows it also reduces fine lines and wrinkles by plumping up skin layers.
Hyaluronic acid acts like a sponge when applied topically, drawing in moisture to plump up and firm skin. Hyaluronic acid can store up to 1,000 times its weight in water, making it an excellent hydrator for dry or dehydrated skin types.
Our Hyaluronic Acid Serum features five forms of this humectant: low, medium and high molecular weight molecules; an HA crosspolymer; and hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid. Plus it comes infused with Ceramides that support your skin barrier to keep moisture locked inside! For optimal results apply after cleansing but prior to applying any lipid-based moisturizers that prevent penetration of Hyaluronic Acid.
Retinol
Retinol (and its cousins retinoic acid and retinyl palmitate) are all derivatives of vitamin A and can help reduce breakouts, fade dark spots and smooth skin tone – but can have side effects such as redness, itching and flaking for those with sensitive skin.
Note that using retinol increases skin sensitivity to UV radiation and sunlight damage, so wearing sunscreen when taking it is always wise. Furthermore, using it could exacerbate existing conditions like rosacea or eczema so if those apply, avoid it at all costs.
Starting off at 0.25 percent concentration is recommended to see how your skin reacts and gradually build it up from there. Be patient as it takes some time for your body to get used to new ingredients; don’t rush it!
Peptides
Face serums loaded with anti-aging ingredients are an essential step towards attaining and maintaining beautiful, radiant skin that radiates vitality. The rich oil-based formulations can strengthen skin barriers, enhance tone and texture, diminish signs of aging, protect against UV radiation exposure and environmental toxins and protect against further future damage to prevent further degradation in appearance.
Peptides, comprised of short chains of amino acids linked together by their linkers, are proteins essential to healthy skin. Some peptides like palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 (Matrixyl), for instance, stimulate collagen production while others like copper (GHK-Cu) may reduce age spots or dark eye circles as well as increase moisture, elasticity and thickness in skin cells. You can find peptides in many face creams and serums in addition to hair care products.
Other Ingredients
Hyaluronic acid and retinol serums can help smooth fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating cell turnover, increasing collagen production, firming up skin cell turnover rates, and plumping the complexion with firming agents that will firm and plump it further.
Serums designed for dull complexions often feature brightening ingredients such as niacinamide to even out skin tone and improve texture while minimising pores. Exfoliating acids such as glycolic and salicylic acids also gently exfoliate while soothing agents such as lactic acid or mandelic acid soothe the complexion.
Oil-based face serums can significantly improve absorption of other skincare products as they penetrate more deeply into the complexion. They typically include ceramides to strengthen the skin barrier and promote better hydration; and may contain powerful antioxidants like Resveratrol that work to ward off free radical damage.
